| Operations / P&L | Weekly | Average month | Year 1 |
|---|
Monthly cash uses 4, 4 and 5 weeks in each 13-week quarter. These are planning months, not calendar months. P&L average month is annual ÷ 12.
| Period | Opening cash | Collections | Livestock paid | Other cash costs | Acquisition / setup | Net cash change | Closing cash |
|---|
Other cash costs include processing, certification, dispatch, overheads, interest, tax and principal. Payments are assumed to occur before collections within each week. Funding need captures that temporary shortfall even when closing cash is positive. Negative cash means additional funding is needed; the model does not add borrowing automatically.

CSV captures your current web inputs. The Excel model starts with the default scenario and has editable assumptions.
Production and sales All output is sold in its production week; customer terms delay cash collection. No opening inventory or prior-period receivables/payables are assumed. Offal, hide and bones/balance are sold in the same week and use the customer collection delay. The full balance is sold at the bones/wastage rate. Offal and hide recovery is separate; set that recovery to zero if it is already included in the balance sale.
Costs and profit Freight is allocated by 28,500 kg equivalent loads, including fractional loads. Processing rates should include the variable costs you expect; fixed overheads should include the remaining payroll, utilities, repairs and administration without double counting.
Acquisition and cash Acquisition/setup is paid once in week 1. Opening cash includes any funding already available. Depreciation is a separate non-cash input. Loan principal affects cash, while interest affects both profit and cash.
Timing and scope Tax is an editable planning rate on positive weekly profit and is paid in that week. Fixed monthly costs are annualised and spread over 52 weeks. This model excludes price changes, seasonality, incremental capex and tax-specific rules unless included in your inputs.
